What does treatment involve?

Generally you will see a psychiatrist for a first assessment and then a psychologist. The purpose of these meetings is to assess your problems and understand whether there may be other health-promoting measures you might need help with before possibly starting treatment. All treatment here is tailored to your own needs. It is entirely voluntary and proceeds only with your consent. We can offer medical treatment and psychotherapy, either individually or in a group. If it is relevant, and if you consent, we also collaborate with other caregivers. The treatment period varies from a couple of months to a couple of years, depending entirely on what your problems are. Treatment is intended to prevent unwanted or forbidden sexual behaviors with negative consequences—both for you and for those around you. It also helps you reinforce sexual expressions that are good for you and others.
